FAQs

How does billboard advertising work?

Once you reserve a location, give us an idea of what you want on the board and we do the rest. Our graphic artist will design artwork for your consideration. After you have approved the artwork, the vinyl face is ordered and installed when it arrives.

How long does it take to get an ad up and advertising?

Once artwork is approved, the ad is ordered and takes 11-13 business days for printing and shipping, then the ad will be installed once it has arrived, weather permitting.

What are the start up fees?

Artwork is $125, if we design it.  If you send us artwork, there is no design fee.  We would require the artwork to be the correct size, in a pdf file or a high resolution jpg (300 dpi).  Printing and installation fees must be paid prior to having an ad ordered.

How much does a billboard cost?

The price depends on the size, location and illumination of the board.

The artwork is $125, if designed by our graphic designer.  Printing is $1.50 per square foot + sales tax.  Installation fees are $2 per square foot.

What is the length of a contract and how often do you bill?

The contracts are for 1 year, which is 13 invoices, because we bill every 28 days, not monthly.  Your rent starts the day after your ad goes up.  Your first month’s invoice may be prorated according to our billing cycle dates.

Do I get first refusal of my board when the renewal date is nearing?

Yes, you are given the chance to renew and keep things going for another year.

How long will an ad last?

Sunlight and salt air can fade an ad.  If your board is shaded, the ad could last 5 years or longer.  If your ad gets direct sunlight and is near salt water, the ads only hold up 2-3 years, sometimes less.

Can I design my own ad?

Yes, we would just need a PDF file or a high resolution JPG (300 DPI).  The artwork would need to be the correct size of the billboard space.

When designing your own artwork, please keep in mind that less is more, and you need contrasting colors to make the words pop and stand out.

Before sending us the final file, print it out and tape it across the room.  Stand back and see if it’s readable.  If it’s too jumbled, it will be the same way on the billboard.  Traffic will be driving by the sign quickly, so only the main info is necessary.

What words should I use on my billboard?

You have less than 6 seconds to catch the potential customer’s attention. Do not try to print a book on your billboard, just 10 words are plenty. Keep the layout simple. Cluttered messages will confuse the reader and the message will not be remembered. Short and sweet is best.

Using imagery along with the copy will help to attract the reader’s eye to the billboard. The use of imagery helps the reader to retain the message in their memory by creating an association between the image and the message. Pictures of animals and people tend to catch the eye.
